Create a historical marker for the Louisiana Purchase. The marker should include a map of the area purchased, a succinct summary of the events that transpired in 1803 leading to the purchase, and a brief explanation of the purchases significance in our country's history.

Pretend you are Andrew Jackson, a Seminole Indian, a Spanish colonist, OR a runaway slave. Write a journal entry that covers Jackson invading Florida and the 5 million dollar deal.

Create an illustrated flow chart showing the steps/important people that were involved in the annexation of Texas. Six steps - each a sentence and a colored picture (one from each section).

Create an acrostic poem using UNITED STATES. Each line must have at least five words. Include information from the war with Mexico, invasion of Mexico, Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, and Gadsen Purchase.

yes it is, I go here before I take on each new chapter.  Dawn has included all her ISN prompts for all of us to look at and use.  I have found this very usefull and have adapted her ideas along with the original posts from the TCI developers.  this is only the second year that I am teaching 8th grade, the last time was 3 years ago.  I have been teaching 7th grade for the last 4 years and still find these posts very helpfull!!  I just wish more teaches would get involved and contribute.
